Photoshoot Styling: Lipstick

I am generally an "eyes" girl. Lips tend to be an afterthought, and I usually stick to the same favorite shade of lipgloss day after day. So when I'm styling my clients for their shoots, it's no surprise that when I ask about what they want for their lips, I often get a nervous, "What? Do whatever you think."  I love to suggest a neutral lip for the beginning of the shoot, then add a bold, red lip towards the end. It completely changes the mood of the images.

The only difference between these two photos is her lipstick; she's in the same spot, wearing the same outfit, with the same hairstyle.

What a better opportunity to sport red lipstick than a photoshoot? You don't have to worry about it wearing off when you eat, or getting on your teeth ('cause I'm watching that for you, dear), or kissing off on your sweetheart.

By starting out neutral, you still get images that are more "you" - but isn't there a part of you that's a little bit (or a lot) of a bombshell, too?
